SDA Visual offers a central online archive to store and retrieve photographs saved as TIFFs, JPEGs, GIFFs, and PDFs. Administrators may use either FTP or HTTP to upload source files that can be re-sized on the fly when a user downloads it according to the size requested. The system offers cropping tools as well as an area where the user may re-size and/or re-configure. Every asset generates a thumbnail automatically and carries metadata including IPTC and EXIF information. Once an asset has been uploaded, users may search by keywords, locations, businesses, categories, collections, dates, authors, orientation and/or format. Users may refine searches once a search has begun as well as add files to a light box while searching. Specific files may be selected and added to a custom contact sheet for projects or limited access by external users like the media or designers. Access to collections, individual assets and file formats is granted based on user groups that are configured by client. A single sign on (SSO) authentication process is available that utilizes existing network security and is highly recommended by SDA. Visual is simple for any user to navigate and requires limited training for administrators to maintain.
